Sen. Warren: “He needs to stop blaming his fans.”
“We have to stop accusing him of all the things that he is guilty of,” Warren told reporters on Thursday at the University of New Hampshire.
“He is not, he is not innocent,” she said.
“It’s the fact that he says and does things that are not true.
That he says he is innocent, that he has lied to us.
On Wednesday, Trump tweeted that Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont had a “basket of deplorables” when he said Trump had been elected president “because of his promises to millions of Americans.””
The Massachusetts Democrat is one of the most vocal Democratic critics of President Donald Trump, calling his attacks on the nation’s healthcare system a “disaster.
“On Wednesday, Trump tweeted that Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont had a “basket of deplorables” when he said Trump had been elected president “because of his promises to millions of Americans.
“Warren, who was one of Sanders’ early backers in the 2016 Democratic presidential primary, responded on Twitter to Trump’s attack on Sanders: “Bernie Sanders has the most ‘basket’ of deplorable, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, Islamophobic, racist’ people.
I have the most respect for his supporters.
“Warren has not yet publicly endorsed a candidate in the 2020 Democratic primary, but she has criticized Trump in recent weeks, saying he was not qualified to be president.
She said the country needs a president who “is not beholden to special interests and who will actually fight for the middle class and the working families that have been devastated by the Trump economy.”
On Thursday, she tweeted: “If I thought he was qualified, I would vote for him.”
